Network Audio Options

About Audio over IP
Home / Network IP Audio

We offer three different levels of audio-over-IP systems, depending on your budget, functionality requirements, and installation limitations. These options include full IP, semi-IP, and hybrid IP.

Each system level includes our PoE audio modules to some extent. However, we can also incorporate analogue audio solutions into the system design to utilise existing speaker lines or accommodate limited budgets. A fully IP-based system—where our IP speakers are connected via CAT network cables from a switch for both power and control—can sometimes be too costly. To address this, we offer alternative product options that reduce the initial equipment outlay while still providing IP functionality and future-proofing.

Semi IP

Instead of running a network cable to each individual speaker, we use a single network cable to connect one of our IP PoE amplifiers, such as the IPBX or TERRA-AMP/G2. From there, multiple passive loudspeakers can be connected via speaker cable, distributing the cost of IP functionality across several speakers rather than each one individually. However, it is important to consider both the speaker cable length and speaker power (W) when using this approach.

Hybrid IP

Our hybrid option utilises ATEÏS PA analogue amplifiers and Penton passive loudspeakers to create a cost-effective backbone for your system. By incorporating a TERRA-EX/G2 or TERRA-IEX2/G2 PoE audio module, we can receive and broadcast audio over a network while using a traditional 100V line or low-impedance cabling infrastructure to power and distribute audio throughout the building or site.
